THRESHOLD
A Therapeutic Tabletop Role-Playing Game Group for Teens Ages 13–16
What You Need to Know
In this in-person group, teens co-create and lead a fantasy world through tabletop role-play, stepping into characters, making high-stakes choices, and navigating alliances, rivalries, and moral gray areas alongside their peers.
Each session raises the stakes: negotiation, group strategy, self-advocacy, and calculated risk. The storyline builds week to week, giving teens real room to lead, mess up, recover, and grow, with the group as a low-stakes place to practice.
We welcome participants with a diversity of lived experiences, including gender identity, race, neurotype, body type, family structure, and beyond. No tabletop role-playing experience is necessary, just curiosity and a willingness to show up.
This group is about owning your voice, reading the room, and leading without losing yourself. Over ten weeks, teens will practice skills like:
✔ Self-advocacy
✔ Leadership & collaboration
✔ Conflict resolution
✔ Emotional regulation
✔ Identity exploration
Please reach out if your child may be a good fit, and we will do our best to accommodate everyone’s schedules!

Group Leader
Juno VanWeelden, LCAT-LP, P-RDT
Game Master & Creative Arts Therapist
Juno leads Threshold as both game master and creative arts therapist, weaving drama therapy training together with tabletop role-play so teens can practice social and emotional skills inside a story they help build. Their approach is warm, curious, and unhurried; the goal is a room where teens feel safe enough to take real risks in character, then reflect on what those choices reveal about them.
Please reach out if your teen may be a good fit, and we'll do our best to accommodate everyone's schedules.
