Juno VanWeelden (any pronouns) believes that the most meaningful therapeutic work happens when clients feel genuinely met in their complexity, creativity, and at their own pace. A Licensed Creative Arts Therapist - Limited Permit (LCAT-LP) and a provisionally Registered Drama Therapist (P-RDT) with a Master's in Drama Therapy from New York University, Juno works collaboratively with clients to build a space where curiosity is welcome and change can unfold naturally.
Juno works with children, adolescents, adults, and families, with particular depth in supporting young people navigating anxiety, OCD, complex trauma, and the challenges of growing up in family systems that don't always have the tools to meet them. Their work is relational at its core and pays close attention to what lives beneath behavior.
Juno draws on a range of creative arts therapy and psychodynamic approaches, including dramatic play, narrative, movement, visual art, and the relational dynamics that emerge naturally through shared creative experience. She attends closely to what emerges in the room: the stories clients tell, the characters they create, the ways they move through space, and the moments of connection and rupture that words alone cannot express. The creative process is not a detour from therapeutic work; it is often its most direct route.
Juno has particular experience with neurodivergent clients and families, OCD and anxiety across the lifespan, affect phobia, trauma recovery, and identity development. They are committed to LGBTQIA+ affirming care and bring personal investment to working with clients who are learning (sometimes for the first time!) to trust their own inner experience.
