Sophie is a postdoctoral fellow at IMPACT dedicated to helping children, young adults, and families find healing and balance. As a Vietnamese immigrant who moved to the US in late adolescence, she offers psychotherapy in both English and Vietnamese, with a deep appreciation for how culture, identity, and community shape well-being.
She earned her PhD in School Psychology from Fordham University, focusing on bilingual psychology, and her MA in Education and Social Policy from New York University. Sophie integrates evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-focused and play-based approaches, with psychodynamic, humanistic, and mindfulness traditions. She works with clients across the lifespan-children, teens, young adults, and parents-and has experience supporting neurodiverse individuals and those managing anxiety, depression, executive functioning, or parenting issues. Her past training included NYC public and independent schools, the Kennedy Children's Center, Fordham University's Hagin School Consultation Center, and the Westchester Institute for Human Development.
Sophie's style is warm, collaborative, and flexible. She believes in meeting clients where they are, walking alongside them as they navigate challenges, uncover strengths, and work toward their goals. Grounded in her own long-term insight meditation practice and ongoing professional development, she strives to be a steady, compassionate presence for the families she serves.
Fee: $250 per session
“As a therapist, I strive to create a supportive, collaborative space where we walk together, uncover your strengths, and build the resilience to navigate life's challenges and find balance. My goal is to help you feel safe, understood, and accepted as you sort through life's ups and downs. Clients have described my approach as warm, non-judgmental, and attentive to their unique needs."
